On the downside we did of course “lose” an hour, but that seems a small price to pay!

Here’s a little reminder snapped in my garden just now that hints at the delights of the months to come ..

And when he met my mum (who was an operator in the local telephone exchange) he would call her from a handset at the top of said pole! Now that’s what I call romantic.

And although they’re being phased out you’ll still see plenty of overland wiring around and about in rural Lincolnshire …
